#5 - “Walk Em Down” (ft. Roddy Ricch) by NLE Choppa
17-year-old Memphis phenom NLE Choppa recruited rising star Roddy Ricch for this new track.
Produced by CashMoneyAP and Los Hendrix, “Walk Em Down” marks the first collaboration between Choppa and Roddy. The track was first teased on NLE’s Instagram story last October.
This cut is fairly generic, but catchy and enjoyable nonetheless. “Walk Em Down” is a solid collaboration between two artists who are the future of trap music.

#4 - “2 Seater” (ft. G-Eazy & Offset) by YBN Nahmir
Soundcloud standout YBN Nahmir tapped mainstream monsters G-Eazy and Offset for a new hit.
The instrumental, produced by Go Grizzly, Smash David, and Hitmaka, is grimy in the best way possible - reminiscent of early trap music with a dash of 90s grit. The track sees the three stars glide over the beat while flexing in typical fashion.
“2 Seater” is speculated to be a track off of Nahmir’s forthcoming project, likely to be released this year.

#3 - “Actions” by John Legend
One of R&B’s superstars has returned with a new “love song” smooth as silk.
The track, produced by OAK, surprisingly samples “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre. As you could imagine, John put a more romantic spin on the gangsta rap classic. Ironically, the song’s premise is that “actions speak louder than love songs”.
While I wasn’t sure how to feel at first, this unique track has made its way into my R&B rotation. “Actions” is bound to blow up sooner rather than later; give it a listen.

#2 - Circles (Deluxe) by Mac Miller
Two months after the release of Circles, Mac Miller’s estate added two bonus tracks to his beautiful final album.
“Right” and “Floating” are the final additions to Circles. Both tracks feature production from Mac himself, as well as assistance from Jon Brion, Alexander Spit, and Vic Wainstein. Much like the rest of the album, both new tracks are carried by robust, jazzy instrumentals that help showcase Mac’s range and artistry.
Circles (Deluxe) is the perfect finale for one of the most beloved musicians of our generation.
Rest easy Malcolm, we love you forever.

#1 - After Hours by The Weeknd
XO admiral Abel Tesfaye is back with his first studio album since 2016’s Starboy.
After Hours, in many ways, is somewhat of a departure from past “versions” of The Weeknd. For starters, After Hours is brighter than a large portion of his discography, boasting sonics reminiscent of the 80s on tracks like “Hardest to Love” and “Scared to Live”. After Hours also features more “rap Weeknd” than we’re accustomed to on standout tracks like “Snowchild” and the Metro Boomin-produced single “Heartless”. But of course, there are still a handful of dark, melancholic cuts; it wouldn’t be The Weeknd if there weren’t any.
