Sneaker Peeker - Volume I

The first installment of Sneaker Peeker is officially here. In this segment, we will take a look at some of our favorite celebrities and discuss what they wore on feet this past week. We will see what they wore on social media, out to public events or even what they rocked just hitting the streets. We will rate each one on a scale of 5 and roast each week's worst sneaker plus praise this weeks best sneaker. This week we were fortunate enough to have the VMA's bring together tons of big names in pop culture. Some showed up in some heat and other's not so much. Let's take a look.

Missy Elliot - Versace Chain Reaction "Black"

Retail: $995

The headliner of the VMA's was non other than Missy Elliot who received the Vanguard Award. She did so with a big flex rocking the Versace Chain Reactions. An all black bulky silhouette with the iconic Medusa snake pattern on the outsole to really show off that these joints are designer.

Joe Jonas - Christian Dior B23 High-Top Sneakers "Dior Oblique"

Keeping with the designer theme, Joe Jonas was seen out and about with his wife Sophie Turner. Not to take away from the fact that he has her face imprinted the back of his jacket, he pulled out the heavily branded Christian Dior B23 High-Tops. With a FAT retail, RETAIL, price of $1,100, these will most definitely make you question, what the fuck are you doing Joe?

Hailey Baldwin - Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 "Lundmark"

Before hopping in a private jet, Hailey Baldwin was seen with Kendall Jenner in one of Kanye's most recent releases, the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 "Lundmark." The Lundmark color way was apart of the 3 regional releases Kanye x Adidas dropped last month being the North American exclusive.

Lizzo - Adidas Yeezy 500 "Bone White"

After her first ever performance at the VMA's, Lizzo was spotted in this week's past release of the Yeezy 500 "Bone White." Lots of controversy surrounding this release, as Kanye and Adidas are being deemed as "lazy" with their 500 color ways. Claiming that the "Salt," "Blush," and now "Bone White" all look extremely similar. Be that as it may, it's still a super clean sneaker.

Kanye West - Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 "Teal"

Kimye were out and about this week as Kanye gave us an on feet look of his unreleased "Teal" Yeezy Boost 700s. Again, another color way that many say looks similar to the "Inertia" color way, but just with an added teal upper. Rinse and repeat must be the remedy for the Yeezy colorway process, but hey if it works it works. Regardless, if you rock with them then you can grab yours on September 28th. Personally, I'll pass.

Justin Timberlake - Nike x OFF-WHITE Air Presto "White"

JT is known as one of the biggest sneakerheads in the music industry seeing that he has his own Jordan 3 color way (Bio-Beige). He lived up to that by wearing one of Virgil's most popular OFF-WHITE x Nike models in the Air Presto. A deconstructed take on an all time model, the air presto. God that shoe is beautiful.

Queen Latifah - Custom Air Jordan 1 x Travis Scott Retro High OG "Mocha"

Queen Latifah closed out the VMA's with a performance featuring Redman, Fetty Wap, Naughty by Nature and Wycleaf Jean and she outshined all of them...with her shoes. No info has been shared on who made her the custom but these Bred (Black and Red) inspired Travis Scott 1s seemed to be fit for a queen, literally.

DJ Khaled - Air Jordan 3 Retro "Knicks"

Another Jordan Brand ambassador and maybe a bigger sneaker head than JT is that of DJ Khaled. Always ready to go to war, meaning he is ready to have a "Who has the better sneaker" battle wherever, whenever as he stated on "Complex Closets with Joe La Puma," He busted out the unreleased, New York Knick Inspired, Jordan 3 for his red carpet strut at the VMA's. This pair will be available to the public on September 14th.

Big Sean - Bathing Ape Bapesta Mid "White"

Okay so I don't know where or how Big Sean got these because I couldn't find these anywhere. I found them on some weird Canadian boutique site that may or may not be fake, I have no clue. These aren't even listed on GOAT. The Bapesta line has been known for ripping off the Air Force One Low and apparently they ripped off the Mid too I guess. I'm genuinely confused. But, okay fine, you do you Big Sean.

Afrojack - Nike Air Yeezy 1 "Net"

Okay Afrojack, you really had to do this to me. It's Volume 1 of this segment. I cannot give out a 5/5 this fast, people are gonna think I'm some sort of rating slut that just gives out 5s. But, come on. Red carpet. VMA's. The Air Yeezy 1. You can't beat that. Back in 09', Kanye used to be signed with Nike. That's when the Air Yeezy was born. 10 years ago. This was the third and final colorway ever created of this God, or Yeezus in this case, given gift to the world. The definition of grails for most sneaker heads.

WORST KICKS OF THE WEEK

AJ Mitchell - Prada Cloudbust Thunder Knit Sneakers "White"

AJ, AJ, AJ. First off, I'm sorry I have no fucking clue who you are. Secondly, I'm sorry I happened to noticed the cheese-cube appetizers that you happened to glue to the bottom of your shoes. He paid $895 for this ugly ass shoe that literally looks like it was made from a 3D printer. Like it looks plastic. He deadass looked in the mirror, posted a story of him walking to the VMA's on the gram in these, and thought, "God damn. These are what I want to wear to my first ever VMA's." WHAT ARE THOSE OUTSOLES?! Like that outsole needs to fire it's orthodontist, because them shits is crooked. Prada needs to take who designed these, make them put these on, strap weights to their ankles and drop them in the middle of the ocean. $895. You must be out of your fucking mind Prada.
