After a two-year-long hiatus and beyond cringe Szechuan sauce-based meltdowns, Rick and Morty dropped their long-awaited trailer for season 4 and it is a doozy.
The first preview we got of Season 4 was back in July during San Diego Comic-Con. The clip gave fans a quick look-into the Rick and Morty hijinks that we've grown accustomed to seeing on the show, and the trailer today gives us an even bigger scope to what the duo will get into.
Season 3 premiered in 2017 and fans have been clamoring for new episodes since, but the big news from the trailer and news is that the show is returning for a reported five episodes. Adult Swim has potentially confirmed the show's short season run on their social media platforms with a promo for season 4 and stating it will only be five episodes.
As you would think, fans were not happy and many of them took to social media to express their mixed-feelings on getting their favorite show back but only for a short time.
To hold onto some sliver of hope, Adult Swim has been known to troll people, and there also is an IMDB listing of ten episodes for the entire season. IMDB is not the end-all-be-all but it is a good indicator for the specifics when it comes to episode logs.
For those of you still upset, show creator Justin Roiland promised no-more long gaps in-between seasons.
Season 4 premieres Sunday, November 11, at 11:30 PM EST on Adult Swim.
