The Spins co-host Marty Gross reviews and recaps "Payday," the latest single from Texas-based artist Bando. featuring Isaiah Rashad.
How did you like the track?
All I have to say is, Bando., you have my attention and I’m sorry I wasn’t paying any before. “Payday” was a fantastic track full of everything you want in a single. "Payday" provides a super fast-paced and immeasurably replayable chorus that has me chanting “more, more, more." On top of this, the instrumental is fantastic, containing electric drum claps, an opera-esque sample loop, and a gnarly guitar riff that pops in just enough to keep you bobbing your head. This matched with Bando. going absolutely nuts on his verse, which leaves you barely able to comprehend his words. It adds the icing on the cake.
How do you like the Isaiah Rashad feature?
Even though Zay isn’t dominating this song by any means, I think he does a solid job complimenting Bando. He gives a quick few quirky bars and dips. There is nothing outstanding about it, but nothing bad about it. Simply put, he does exactly what a feature should do; nothing more, nothing less.
Are you excited for more Bando?
Honestly, I had never heard of Bando. until Spotify magically threw it on my homepage, but I’m really glad the music gods threw it on here. After listening to this track, I am so much more inclined to check out his music and hopefully see some other songs and collabs. Hopefully, I can hop on the bandwagon before everyone else!!
