I really enjoy just thinking of random players that come to my head. This week's RPOTW is former Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker. Locker was highly touted in college, so much so that he was garnering #1 pick attention. However, his inaccuracy and his poor performance in his senior year at Washington didn't sit well with many teams.
However, Tennesee wasn't one of them, as they shocked the football world by taking Locker with the eighth pick in the 2011 draft. The Titans bet on his athleticism and potential and unfortunately for them, it didn't work out. In his four year NFL career, he started 23 games and was wildly inaccurate and inconsistent.
In 2015, Locker announced his retirement at the age of 27, citing a lack of love for the game. He finished his career with a 57.5 completion percentage, just under 5,000 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. To my Titans fans, I apologize for bringing up a bad memory, but hey look at the bright side, you guys are 5-0 and look like one of the favorites to make it out of the AFC.
