With the first post of my "Random Moments of Weekly History in the NFL" series, we go back seven years. The year is 2013: Peyton Manning is obliterating passing records like it's nothing, and the Denver Broncos are a top team. On October 6, the 4-0 Denver Broncos headed to Dallas to take on the 2-2 Cowboys in Week 5. This game was an instant classic for many NFL fans. This Week 5 shootout posted a then-NFL record 1,039 yards combined by the teams and 99 combined points! Matt Prater knocked in a 28-yard game-winning field goal as time expired, to win 51-48. It was the most fitting end to a legendary game; by far one of the best games I have ever watched.
