Last week in music was another blockbuster, with drops from Brent Faiyaz, Joji, Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats, Trippie Redd, Lil Mosey, Meek Mill, Pop Smoke, T.R.U. & 2 Chainz, and others.

We compiled our five favorite releases and added your takes, too. Keep up with the Burbs Instagram to vote each week. While you're at it, cop yourself an icy Burbs hoodie with discount code "CUP1D".

Let's talk some music:

#5 - “YELL OH” by Trippie Redd (ft. Young Thug)

Previously teased on his Instagram before the release of A Love Letter to You 4 last November, Trippie finally blessed us with “YELL OH”.

With production from Pierre Bourne and a solid feature from Thugger, “YELL OH” is a certified banger. It’s simple, but far from boring.

“YELL OH” will be a part of the deluxe version of A Love Letter to You 4, releasing February 21.

#4 - No Face No Case by T.R.U. & 2 Chainz

If you have followed 2 Chainz at all throughout his career, you know that “TRU” is a large part of the Atlanta rapper’s persona. Standing for “The Real University”, 2 Chainz has now transformed it into his very own label - home to artists Skooly, Sleepy Rose, Worl, and Hott LockedN.

These four new artists help 2 Chainz lead the way on No Face No Case, with other assists from Quavo, NLE Choppa, Quando Rondo, and NoCap. Standout tracks are “Virgil Discount”, “Brick on my Face”, and “Rock Out”.

#3 - “Run” by Joji

88rising star Joji has returned with “Run”, his second single since 2018’s BALLADS 1. With that in mind, it is considered to be the second single off of his TBA sophomore studio album alongside last June’s “Sanctuary”.

Listed as “alternative” on streaming services, “Run” features a different sound than we’ve ever heard from the YouTuber-turned-singer. Joji’s melodic singing is complemented by wavy guitar riffs and majestic drums, immersing you into his melancholy.

Judging from his past two singles, Joji’s next album is going to be something special.

#2 - Unlocked by Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats

Kenny Beats shines on collaborative efforts, and it’s clearer than ever on Unlocked - the thematic ride co-piloted by him and eccentric Florida lyricist Denzel Curry.

Denzel Curry, hot off dropping a near-secret project last month, is back again with his sharp bars and unmistakable energy. The high-octane combo of Denzel and Kenny is flawlessly showcased across the span of the 18-minute project as well as its accompanying animated short they starred in together.

#1 - Fuck the World by Brent Faiyaz

R&B favorite Brent Faiyaz has returned with the boldly-titled Fuck the World, his first studio album since 2017’s Sonder Son.

The 10-track album contains no features, with production from the likes of No ID, Nascent, Jake One, and Faiyaz himself. Fuck the World is the magnum opus of Brent Faiyaz’s career thus far, fitting into his discography of lowkey classics as his most polished and well-executed project to-date. Standout tracks are “Clouded”, “Been Away”, “Summer in London”, “Let Me Know”, and “Winter in Paris”, but the album is nearly a no-skip.

If you’re a fan of artists like Frank Ocean or Miguel, Brent Faiyaz will easily become one of your new favorites.
