Seattle's Highway returns with excellent EP 'Count Fast Untitled'

Cover Art by Daci Demo

Rising Seattle star Highway comes correct on his latest release: a five-track EP entitled Count Fast Untitled. Throughout its brief runtime, we hear Highway continue to bring the heat with his moody trap sound. This new release boasts production handled by Xjay Beats, a frequent collaborator of the artist. As Highway taps back into his alter ego "Countfast," Xjay assists with some of the most interesting production we've seen the Seattle artist rap over. The opening and closing tracks — "No Life" and "Motion" — have their melancholic sound enhanced by Highway's ability to nestle himself within the beat. The peak of the project finds itself right in the middle of the tracklisting. "Better Float" features whimsical sampling that Highway's vocals can quite literally float over. He raps about the self-fulfillment and lack thereof he feels while partaking in the grind of an upcoming hip-hop artist.

Highway is one of the most talented hip-hop artists from Seattle. The Pacific Northwest is having a moment right now, and I'd be shocked if he wasn't one of the next out of his region. His journey to this point has been admirable, and we here at Burbs are already hungry for whatever music we can get next from Countfast. Be sure to keep up with Highway and check out Count Fast Unitlted below:
