Camp Flog Gnaw Attendees Didn't Deserve Frank Ocean Because Of What They Did To Drake

I mean where the fuck should I really even start? How about something like, "Expectations are evil," or "The same people who boo'd are probably the same people who had their parents buy their tickets for them, those ungrateful fucks,"? Too harsh? Okay, then I guess it'd be appropriate to inform you first and foremost that I am absolutely livid about this situation. Partly because I'm protective of my role models (don't you dare try and argue Jordan's better than LeBron to me), and partly because I'm frustrated with how ungrateful the people who went to Camp Flog Gnaw were when Drake was revealed as the surprise headliner instead of Frank Ocean.

Secondly, Frank Ocean and Drake have A LOT more in common than those people would care to admit. They are both incredibly versatile artists who can sing as well as they can spit, and their ability to perform each of those individual talents are paralleled by nobody aside from one another. (They also each have their own Apple Radio station: Blonded Radio and OVO Sound Radio for comparison's sake.)

The only REAL difference between the two artists aside from how often they're engaging with the public eye is their upbringings. Drake's been in the spotlight since Degrassi, and is originally from Toronto, Canada. He's a former member of Young Money Cash Money Records, and is now recognized as a global force to be reckoned with and celebrated simultaneously. He has become the standard for success in the music industry. Frank Ocean is from Louisiana, and he's been in the spotlight since Nostalgia, Ultra., his debut mixtape. He's a former member of the multi-talented group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA, for short), and is now recognized as one of the most enigmatic celebrities in the world, while also being supremely talented and the definition of the word unique.

But when we discuss sheer talent, and the purity of each of their fan bases; the two are nearly twins. These men are often revered and worshiped. It might sound crazy, but it's not an exaggeration to say that people mold their lives after these two gentlemen. They take risks. They build bonds, whether it be with their listeners, loved ones, or fellow artists.

I've personally never had the privilege of seeing Frank perform live, probably because he seldom does, but I have had the opportunity to see Drake perform. I saw him at the Summer Sixteen tour at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa with Future. And let me tell you something, it was essentially a religious experience. Although I'm mad at those people at Camp Flog Gnaw who boo'd Drake off of the stage just because they had unreasonable expectations lodged into their idiotic minds, it doesn't mean that I don't feel bad for them too. They missed out on one of the best performers to ever life. Drake is hands down the most charismatic performer I've ever seen. He incorporates the name of the city that he's in that night to every song, and makes it feel as if he's performing the conference for you and you alone. The dude just gets it. He knows how much we love him, and even if you don't consider yourself to be a stan, or even a fan of his, then you can at least shut the fuck up and let the man do his thing for those who are.
