Burbs Back to School Kicks

Back to school is a when everyone looks to get new shoes for the upcoming school year. Whether you're looking to flex, to work out or just walk around the halls, here are some of our top picks for kicks to rock to class.

We're gonna break this down into four categories. I would suggest to have one pair from each category but that's just me.

*Clicking on the images of the shoes will take you to where you can buy the shoe. Let me know what you cop!

Runners

These are your everyday shoes. They're comfy, quick to put on and of course look great with joggers or shorts.

Adidas Ultra Boost

Ultra Boost 1.0 "Cream"

Ultra Boost 2.0 "Multi-Color"

Ultra Boost 3.0 "Mystery Grey"

Wmns Ultra Boost 4.0 "Ash Pearl"

Ultra Boost 19 "Panda"

This one is a must have in my opinion. First off, Kanye rocked these on stage and at fashion week in New York in 2015. FASHION WEEK.

The Ultra Boost created the merge of accessibility and hype. Meaning these aren't limited or impossible to get but everyone wants a pair. A sleek upper with a cozy midsole of boost, this shoe was inspired by German-made luxury cars. Hell, Action Bronson called these "the greatest sneaker ever made." Coming in hundreds of colors and five different versions (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 19 ~ 2.0 being my favorite), there is one out there for everyone.

Air Max 270

Air Max 270 "Dusty Cactus"

Wmns Air Max 270 SE "Storm Pink"

Debuting in 2018, the Air Max 270 brought in a revamped style of the air max unit. With the highest air max bubble ever to be put on a shoe, Nike captured a new generation of their famous air max line. Aside from the breathable mesh upper, the air max unit provides ultimate comfort. Another shoe with multiple color ways, capable of satisfying every consumer's needs.

Nike React Element 87

Nike React Element 87 "Dark Grey"

Nike React Element 87 "Anthracite"

The first colorway of this shoe (Sail) was voted 2018 Sneaker of the Year by Complex and for good reason. With a “Off-White” vibe due to the deconstructed, translucent upper and the futuristic react sole, Nike continues to bring the heat. With the translucent upper, the shoe allows customers to show off socks and somewhat change the color of the shoe.

Nike React Presto

Nike React Presto "Chatty Matador"

Nike React Presto "Back to School"

In 2000, Nike dropped the iconic Nike Presto. Now, Nike brings us a new version of the presto by throwing their new react sole on it. With the shoe only being four months old, there are already tons of color ways to choose from. Even more fitting they recently released a “Back to School” colorway.

Nike Flyknit Trainer

Nike Flyknit Trainer 2017 "OG"

Nike Flyknit Trainer 2017 "Sunset Tint"

Remember the 2012 olympics? When Michael Phelps took home six gold medals? Where the U.S. won 46 gold medals (Great Britain with 27 as second most) and 121 total medals (China with 70 as second most). They all later took the podium wearing, of course, flyknit trainers. Then it was made famous by Kanye as he rocked it in the streets. Back when Kanye was signed with Nike, he would rock these exclusively until his own Air Yeezy came to fruition. Crazy how he made stacked denim and a nike training shoe look so dope.

Classics

These are the shoes you rock and everyone knows what they are. Super accessible and super fire.

Vans Old Skool

Vans Old Skool "Black White"

Vans Old Skool "Yacht Club"

In 1977, these bad boys were born. No need to dive in too deep for these. Everyone has seen these. The jazz stripe, the leather panels, collab after collab after collab with the likes of Tyler the Creator and even Supreme. $60 retail and made in every color, pattern, etc. imaginable. The possibilities of outfit choices are endless.

Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor

Converse All Star Chuck Taylor "White"

Converse UNT1TL3D Hi White

Probably the most recognizable sneaker of all time, is the All Star Chuck Taylor. Made waaaaaaaaay back in 1917, these joints are 100 years old. Originally a basketball shoe, now popularized as a casual fashion show, the all-star is the perfect shoe for any occasion. It can be dressed up and dressed down. And for $55? It’s a no brainer.

Timberland 6 Inch Boot Premium

Timberland 6 Inch Premium Boot "Wheat"

Timberland 6 Inch Premium Boot "Black"

Another must-have for everyone’s back to school collections is the Timberland 6 inch Premium Boot. Perfect for fall weather, with the wheat colored leather and even better for the winter to battle the snow. Fashionable and useful for these next upcoming colder months.

Air Force 1

Air Force 1 Low EOS "Script Swoosh"

Wmns Air Force 1 Upstep Lx "Force is Female"

DJ Clark Kent, the sneaker head OG, the man who discovered Jay-Z, made the air force 1 iconic. He owns hundreds of just all white air force 1s. He believes in wearing them all once then switching to a new pair because he always wants to stay fresh. Anytime he sees white AF1s on a shelf, he buys them all out in his size. It's a shoe combines sneaker culture and hip hop. Another shoe with a million colorways that everyone should own.

Adidas Ozweego

Adidas Ozweego "Solar Yellow"

Adidas x Size? Ozweego "Lake Ozweego"

Adidas has brought back the Ozweego in a new light. Originally made in the 90s, this ‘dad’ shoe is perfect for the current fashion trends. Big and bulky is just what the doctor ordered for this upcoming fall. With an adiPRENE midsole that is featured on the Yeezy 500, the newest Ozweego is sleek yet comfortable. Plus, when you have an influencer and brand ambassador like Kylie Jenner promoing these, why wouldn’t you want them?

Nike Blazer Mid 77'

Nike Blazer Mid '77 Canvas "Black Canvas"

Nike Blazer Mid '77 Vintage "Pacific Blue"

Probably one of the easiest shoes to add to your weekly rotation is the Blazer Mid 77’. With a exposed, deconstructed tongue and a eggshell tinted midsole, the 77’ Blazer has a vintage feel. Timeless yet perfectly on trend with the consumers’ desire to go back in time in fashion. Something so simple yet so unique is perfect to rock on your first day back to school.

Heaters

This is probably my favorite section. A whole lot of heat and neck breakers to flex on everyone. But, these will cost you a pretty penny.

Air Jordan 1

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Turbo Green"

Wmns Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Twist"

The most retro and arguably the most popular Jordan, especially these past 2 years is the Jordan 1. Debuting in 1985 where the shoe was initially banned by the NBA, the Jordan 1 can now be see on and off the court daily. Inspired by the extremely popular Nike Dunk, the Jordan 1 features the Nike swoosh and the Jordan Logo.

Air Jordan 3

Air Jordan 3 Retro OG "Black Cement"

Wmns Air Jordan 3 SE "Particle Beige"

Where elephant print was born, the Jordan has become one of sneaker heads favorites. The Black Cement Jordan 3 is one of, not the most popular Jordan color ways of all time. Mixing a high fashion look with a basketball sneaker was revolutionary in 1988. With classic color ways like the mocha, true blue and white cement, there are plenty of notable looks to rock.

Air Jordan 4

Air Jordan 4 Retro OG "Bred"

Wmns Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Splatter'

When Jordan hit game winning, buzzer-beating shot over Craig Ehlo in 89’ to advance the Bulls in the playoffs, he was wearing these. A shot that many believe created Michael Jordan’s godly career. Making kids on playgrounds and basketball courts all wanting this shoe so they can be like Mike.

Air Jordan 11

Air Jordan 11 Retro 'Bred'

Air Jordan 11 Retro 'Concord'

Okay, I know I keep saying iconic on everything but this…this is THE shoe. First off, In 95 when these shoes released, Jordan won NBA MVP, All Star Game MVP, Finals MVP, and the 95/96 NBA Championship all in his first full season back from retirement in the Jordan 11. Second, it was designed by the legend Tinker Hatfield. Third, he wore these in Space Jam. SPACE JAM. If that doesn’t make you want a pair, then I don’t know what will.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Cream White / Triple White'

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Beluga 2.0'

It ain’t a Burbs sneaker article if don’t mention Yeezys. No Yeezy are not dead. But, they are more accessible now. Especially the 350 V2. With Kanye and Adidas dropping what seems like colorway after colorway after colorway of these, there is no reason you shouldn’t have a pair.

Adidas Yeezy 500

Adidas Yeezy 500 "Salt"

Adidas Yeezy 500 "Utility Black"

Probably one of the craziest sneakers I’ve ever seen when you really take a look at it is the Yeezy 500. Built with three materials such as suede, mesh and leather, it all somehow works together. Plus, the ‘dad’ like chunky midsole is a perfect touch to a pair of unorthodox looking sneaks.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 700

Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 OG 'Wave Runner'

Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 'Tephra'

Kanye made waves (lol I hate myself) when he released the Yeezy 700 Wave Runner. A weird chunky shoe made up of multiple random colors that again, somehow worked. With a hefty $300 retail price, this shoe is certain to flex on your fellow teammates.
