Burbs Best Drops of July

July felt like there was release after release after release. Jordan Brand came out and dropped new colorways of iconic silhouettes like the 5, 8, 13, etc. Kanye dropped another bullshit colorway of the 350 V2 (when will the V2s die?) but it did numbers of course, because, you know, it's a Yeezy. And lastly, the second installment of the Nike x Stranger Things collaboration dropped in a patriotic way. With all that being said, it's time to dive into Burbs best drops of July.

Honorable Mentions

Nike Air Fear of God 1 "Yellow"

Release Date: July 21st

Retail Price: $350

Resell Price: $886

First off, do not call these the "Fear of God Yellow Amarillos" I have seen that on blogs and comments everywhere. Amarillo is Spanish for yellow. Focus up people. You're saying yellow twice.

Jerry Lorenzo (Founder of Fear of God) has been rocking these for months. In his Complex interview with Joe La Puma and John Mayer, to Laker games and even in the 2019 All-Star Celebrity Softball game (Where he was named MVP). This is the sixth Fear of God colorway and by far my favorite. With no release date in sight, he finally dropped them...kinda. On the Sunday of ComplexCon, Jerry and the SNKRS app did a location stash which basically means if you were outside of McCormick Place in Chicago (at I don't even know what time, I was late myself) and on the SNKRS app, you had a shot at adding to cart and scooping a pair for a fat retail price of $350. But if you didn't hit, then you'll be playing the waiting game with me for an official release.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Off-White MCA "University Blue"

Release Date: July 20th

Retail Price: $150

Resell Price: $1905

"Go to Footlocker two blocks away, buy [a general release], paint them blue, and find a red tag a home depot" - Virgil Abloh

Virgil and Off-White are back and if you want these you better bring the bag. Another honorable mention just because it was yet again a Chicago release only. Only 4 pairs were raffled off at ComplexCon Chicago plus a Chicago only SNKRS stash a few days later at NikeLab (Yes I got to take the L twice). In celebration of Abloh's exhibit in the Museum of Contemporary Art, this AF1 is selling for almost $2000. Yep. $2000 for a shoe Virgil basically told you how to make. Congrats Virgil.

5. Nike Zoom Freak 1 Black/White

Release Date: July 1st

Retail Price: $130

Resell Price: Still Available

Now for it to be a top drop, it doesn't necessarily have to insane resale margins, it just has to be much anticipated and that's exactly what the Zoom Freak 1 is. Before even entering the NBA, Giannis already had been signed with Nike for a small deal worth $25,000. Then in 2017, he re-signed for a long term deal rumored to be around $9 million a year. This meant The Freak was soon to get his own signature shoe. Finally, 2 years later, the NBA's reigning MVP has his signature shoe.

4. Nike x Stranger Things "Independence Day" Pack

Blazer Mid, Tailwind 79, Classic Cortez

Release Date: July 12th

Retail Price: $120 all

Resell Price: Blazer - $170, Tailwind - $173, and Cortez - $135

The second installment of the Nike x Stranger Things has hit the market and all sold out instantly via SNKRS. This pack labeled "Independence Day" has 3 old school models, the Blazer Mid, Tailwind 79, and Classic Cortez in a red, white and blue theme. This theme relates to the initial Stranger Things Season 3 posters of the whole cast with fireworks in the background. The pack has seen several restocks on select boutique sites so be on the look out if you missed out of this banger of a release.

3. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Lundmark" (Reflective)

Release Date: July 11th

Retail Price: $250

Resell Price: $1046

If a Yeezy didn't drop then did the month even happen? No Yeezys aren't dead, no matter how many pair come out, they will always sell out. That's how powerful Kanye's line has become. I really, really wanted to leave this one off the list but, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. He's got me hooked. It honestly isn't even a bad shoe if it was to be original. But, Kanye and Adidas are honestly just fucking with us now. This is a dusty tint version of the Statics, literally the shame shoe just a slightly different colorway. Then, he makes it reflective and super limited. Then he makes it a 3am shock drop. NO MORE KANYE, THIS IS THE 13TH 350 V2 THIS YEAR AND WE'RE ONLY IN JULY! I know its crazy to complain about Yeezys being released but the colorways aren't even creative anymore. Slap a earth tone colorway and make it reflective then BOOM you get hella dollar signs. The worst part about this shoe is that its selling for a whole rack right now, and people are paying that prize. Smh Ye, drop the V3 already.

2. Nike SB Dunk Low "Parra"

Release Date: July 27

Retail Price: $100

Resell Price: $244

I love this release so much. First off, Nike x Parra is already a fire collab. No one can ever forget the Parra Air Max 1s. Then you do it on the Nike SB Dunk Low? Sign me right up. OG sneakerheads were brought into this game because of Dunks. Dunks started the link of Hip Hop, streetwear and sneaker collecting. With Dunks like the Purple Lobsters coming out recently, it seems like Nike is trying to reignite the Dunk craze and I'm here for it. From the abstract sock liner to the 4 color stacked swoosh, the Parra Dunk lived up to what it was rumored to be, which is another must have dunk for any collector. (Shoutout the OGs)

1. Air Jordan 1 Low OG SP "Travis Scott"

Release Date: July 20th

Retail Price: $150

Resell Price: $765

La Flame comes back with his reverse swoosh but this time on the Jordan 1 low. Mimicking his Jordan 1 High OG, Travis shows the low tops some love with this new release. It started with the late night shock drop on his website, selling out in seconds. Then, it hit SNKRS in an open raffle available from 9:00 am - 9:20 pm (CT). Followed up with either the rare message of "GOT EM" or what I got "BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME" (yea I took an L on everything this month, I get it). Don't expect a restock as even Travis Scott is upset when he tweeted out that there will be no more pairs releasing. I guess now we wait patiently wait for his 6s to drop, keep me in your prayers I can't handle anymore Ls.

This Weeks On Feet

Starting up this little end piece where I drop a pair of kicks I rocked this week. Depending on the love this piece gets, I'm hoping to start featuring what you all rocked this week too. Because at the end of the day the sneaker game is just a talent show of what kind of heat you've got.
